Max Stafford-Clark will direct J.T. Rogers' drama, which will begin previews Sept. 28 at the Laura Pels Theatre with an official opening Oct. 23. The limited engagement will play through Jan. 6, 2008.
The Overwhelming, according to press notes, "is the gripping story of an American family, newly arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, in early 1994, who come face-to-face with the realization that nothing and no one around them is what they understood it to be. Finding themselves embroiled in events beyond their understanding, three Americans struggle to discover who they can trust and what they will do when faced with matters of life and death."
The design team comprises Tim Shortall (sets), Tobin Ost (costumes), David Weiner (lighting) and Gareth Fry (sound).
Tickets, priced $63.75-$73.75, will be available in September by calling (212) 719-1300 or by visiting www.roundabouttheatre.org.
