Playwright/director Robert (Insurrection) O'Hara will bring his latest, Brave Blood to NYC's Present Company Theatorium, May 14 - June 6.

A woman reclaims a group of lost souls from the street, is she an unselfish "good Samaritan"? Or are there other motivations usually left unsaid? With Blood, O'Hara takes a look at life in the streets, the struggle to regain dignity and hope while facing overwhelming odds.

O'Hara staged his Insurrection: Holding History at The Public Theater in the 1995-96 season to critical success. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Van Lier Fellow at New Dramatists, The Mark Taper Forum's Sherwood Award, the John Golden Award, Newsday's1996 Oppenheimer Award for Best New American Play, and a 1996 NEA/TCG Theatre Residency at the American Conservatory Theatre.

O'Hara is also currently developing 14 An American Maul for San Francisco's ACT and Shout!, a Gospel Opera heading for Broadway in Autumn of 2000.
