The movie musical, which had been scheduled to hit theatres June 1, will now arrive June 15, according to Deadline.com. The film is moving into the date vacated by "Jack The Giant Killer," which has moved to March 22, 2013.
Adam Shankman directs and choreographs the star-studded feature that is currently in production.
"Rock of Ages" stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, Malin Akerman as Constance, Russell Brand as Lonny, Diego González Boneta as Drew, Alec Baldwin as Dennis, Julianne Hough as Sherrie Christian, Mary J. Blige as Justice, Paul Giamatti as the manager of the rock band, Bryan Cranston as The Mayor and Tony winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as the wife of the mayor, among others.
The musical, which uses hits from the 1980s as its score, premiered Off-Broadway at New World Stages in October 2008 and transferred to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway in March 2009. Rock of Ages earned five Tony nominations including Best Musical, Best Direction, and Best Actor for Constantine Maroulis. The production is currently playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre.
