News Rock of Ages Will Play Las Vegas A new production of Rock of Ages, the Tony-nominated musical that continues at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre, will open in Las Vegas later this year.

According to rockofagesVegas.com, the musical will open in December at the Venetian Hotel & Casino. Ticket information will be available shortly.

No casting has been announced.

In related news, the Venetian has opened the The Bourbon Room, a bar based on the setting of the stage musical.

The musical comedy Rock of Ages borrows rock hits of the 1980s to tell the story of showbiz lovers in L.A. The score includes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don't Stop Believin'" and more.

Rock of Ages is written by Chris D'Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine. The film version of "Rock of Ages" is scheduled to hit theatres June 15. Adam Shankman directs and choreographs the star-studded Warner Bros./New Line feature that filmed this year in Miami.

Rock of Ages is produced on Broadway and world-wide by Matthew Weaver, Carl Levin, Jeff Davis, Barry Habib, Scott Prisand, Michael Cohl, Reagan Silber, and Relativity Media.
