"Atlantic 453 is a black box space which serves as a second performance venue for the Atlantic Theater Company," according to the company's mission statement. "The aim is to produce intriguing, worthy new plays that might not otherwise find a New York production. Now in its second season of full production, Atlantic 453 was inaugurated with the acclaimed, sold-out production of Jeff Whitty's The Hiding Place and has presented Jessica Goldberg's Get What You Need and Ken Weitzman's Arrangements. Atlantic 453 offers emerging writers production opportunities when Atlantic's main stage season is fully occupied. Atlantic believes that playwrights develop their talent and craft best by participating in the entire creative process of a play from the printed page to the fully realized production. By presenting new writers on 16th Street, Atlantic continues its long-standing tradition of cultivating new work."
