Verse playwright Kirk Wood Bromley is getting around. In addition to the regular work he does for his theatre company, Inverse, he is working on a commission for the Obie-winning Foundry Theatre, and Legend Entertainment will present his latest work, Syndrome at the Greenwich Street Theatre, Jan. 16-Feb. 9.

The syndrome in Sydrome is Tourette's. The character in the one man work has it (along with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive behavior and Bipolar personality traits), and the actor who plays him, Joshua Lewis Berg, has it, too. The play takes us through an evening at the man's home as he prepares to have dinner with his parents.

Press materials caution that audiences will not only be exposed to the "tics" of the character Berg plays, but also Berg's own tics which may find there way into the performance. Thus, the play will take on an underlying reality beyond the text.

Bromley's work is typically produced by his own company, Inverse, which operates out of various theatres below 14th Street. In the past few months, audiences have seen The Burnt Woman of Harvard and Midnight Brainwash Revival.

Ron Urbanati, who is a playwright himself, directs. Greenwich Street Theatre is located at 547 Greenwich Street.
