Montblanc, manufacteurs of fine writing instruments have honored the talk show hostess with the 2002 Montblanc Arts Patronage Award, which includes a $15,000 cash contribution to the charity of her choice and a specially made, limited edition pen. O'Donnell has quite a reputation as a Broadway booster, often featuring theatre stars and musical numbers on her nationally syndicated talk show. She performed herself on Broadway in Grease! and as the Cat in the Hat in Seussical. O'Donnell may find added use for her new pen — her first book, "Find Me," a true-life chronicle of her relationship with a young rape victim and O'Donnell's own "coming out" story, was released April 16 by Warner Books.

Actors Marcia Gay Harden and Sam Waterson served as the jury that picked O'Donnell. Past theatrical winners of the Montblanc Arts Patronage Award are Tony Randall and Jane Alexander.
