In April, the Roundabout Theatre Company will stage a private reading of the new musical, The Celebrated, Scandalous, Heroic, Misadventures of Tom Jones with music by Larry Grossman (Paper Moon) and book and lyrics by the late James Goldman (Lion in Winter).

At the time of his death in October 1998, Goldman had recently completed the screenplay of "Tolstoy" and the libretto for Tom Jones. Michael Mayer (Lion in Winter, Side Man, Triumph of Love) will direct the reading.

A Roundabout spokesperson at Boneau/Bryan-Brown told Playbill On-Line (March 19) casting for the reading is not yet set.

In January, The Roundabout workshopped a revised version of the 1983 Maltby - Shire musical Baby, starring Tony Award winning actor Jarrod Emick (Damn Yankees ), Jessica Molaskey (Parade, Tommy ), Dashiell Eaves (1776, The Sound of Music ) and Jessica Snow Wilson (Les Miserables).
