Eldridge’s new show, Incomplete and Random Acts of Kindness, will open in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs on May 6 (closing May 28). It depicts a man, Joey, desperately trying to find someone or something in the world he can connect with. Eldridge’s previous play at this address, Under the Blue Sky, won him the Time Out Live award for Best New Play in the West End. Between June 16 and July 9, the Theatre Downstairs will present Juan Mayorga’s Way to Heaven, about a Red Cross report of a place in 1942 Europe. From July 13 (ends July 23), Amid the Clouds sees a proper London staging for a show developed as part of the Royal Court’s International Residency 2004. Amir Reza Koohestani’s play about a man, whose only memory is of being breast-fed by his mother while she was trying to get to England, is produced by the Mehr Theatrical Group. They will also take the show to Iran and across Europe.

In the Theatre Downstairs, Roland Schimmelpfennig’s The Woman Before will open on May 12 (closing June 18). Richard Wilson will direct, following his highly praised work on Primo at the National, the story of a woman who disrupts a couple’s home to announce that she is the lover of the woman’s husband.

Robin Soans brings the witness-led style he employed for the Gate’s The Arab-Israeli Cookbook to investigate the effects of terrorism. Talking to Terrorists — a co-production with Out Of Joint — is drawn from the testimonies of those affected by or involved in terrorism around the world. Max Stafford-Clark will direct.
