Hartford TheaterWorks presents the New England premiere of Sarah Ruhl's dark comedy Dead Man's Cell Phone beginning Jan. 30.

TheaterWorks associate artistic director Rob Ruggiero directs the production that will officially open Feb. 6 and continue through March 15.

The cast features Lee Heinz (Peter Pan), Anne-Lynn Kettles (TheaterWorks' A Christmas Carol), Joey Parsons (TheaterWorks' Rabbit Hole), Mark Shanahan (Tryst at Westport), Finnerty Steeves (Almost, Maine) and Craig Wroe (Catch-22).

In Dead Man's Cell Phone, press notes reveal, "a woman in a café finds that the man with the ringing cell phone next to her is 'out of minutes.' When Jean answers his phone, she gets swept into the complicated personal and professional life of the late owner. Reveling in the intrigue, she opens a Pandora's Box of unexpected events in this magical comedy."

The design team includes Michael Schweikardt (set design), Katherine Hampton Noland (costume design), John Lasiter (lighting design) and J Hagenbuckle (sound design).

The popular comedy opened Off-Broadway in March 2008 starring Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker. The production premiered at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, DC in 2007 and continues to be a regional staple.
