Cuban-American performance artist and actress Peláez penned the work in which she also stars. Carl Andress (Die, Mommie, Die!) directs the work with a creative team that includes set designer Ken Larson, costume designer Jessica Jahn, lighting designer Matthew McCarthy, video designer Chris Kateff and sound designer Matt O'Hare.

"Pain is funny in this bracing one-woman show," according to press notes, "as Camila plunges headlong into her family history during a trip to Havana via Miami. A ferociously comic look at life seen through a Cuban lens, this is a journey that is a hilariously poignant memoir."

Rum & Coke was previously staged by Area Stage in Miami; Chicago's Pegasus Theatre; HBO workspace in Los Angeles; the PS NBC space in New York; and the Coconut Grove Playhouse.

Grandniece to painter Amelia Peláez and radio star Ernesto Galindo, Peláez has appeared in the films "Stroll," "Houseguest" and "Last Hand Standing," the latter a finalist in the Chrysler Extreme Filmmaking competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
