Donations rose by 11 percent in 2003-04 compared to 2002-03, the orchestra said. About 80 percent of patrons renewed their subscriptions‹the highest renewal rate in 16 years.
The SPCO also announced that it has received a $1.27 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Lileana Blain-Cruz directs the new production, opening April 23.
The Cuban-born composer is this season's Debs Composer's Chair.
The cast is led by Bryonha Marie and Nathan Gunn, with Tony winner Ted Sperling at the baton.
The season, opening September 21, will include 58 ballets across 21 weeks of performances.
