Sally Burgess, one of ENO's most popular stars, returns to the Coliseum on June 30 at 7 PM, along with special guest Janie Dee, for Something Wonderful, a concert celebration of one of the giants of twentieth-century musical theatre, Richard Rodgers.
Something Wonderful marks Rodgers's centenary year (the actual birthday is June 28) with a collection of songs written in collaboration with Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II. Together they wrote and produced some of Broadway's biggest musical hits including Oklahoma! and South Pacific.
Joined by a jazz trio, chorus and full orchestra, Sally Burgess will perform songs demonstrating Rodgers's extraordinary musical range, including "Blue Moon," "Happy Talk," "Johnny One Note" and "Bali Ha'i."
