The play is described in press materials as a two-hander about quantum multiverse theory, love and honeybees. It is directed by Michael Longhurst, designed by Tom Scutt, with lighting by Lee Curran, music by Simon Slater and sound by David McSeveney. Hawkins, who last appeared onstage on Broadway in Mrs. Warren's Profession for Roundabout Theatre Company at the American Airlines Theatre, has previously appeared at the Royal Court in Jez Butterworth's The Winterling and Simon Stephens' Country Music. Her film credits include Mike Leigh's "Happy-Go-Lucky," for which she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress. She has also appeared on film in "Made in Dagenham" and "Never Let Me Go," and in 2012 will be seen in the new film version of "Great Expectations."

Spall, who last appeared at the Royal Court in DC Moore's Alaska, has also been seen onstage in If There Is I Haven’t Found it Yet at the Bush and John Gabriel Borkman at the Donmar Warehouse. On television, he plays the lead in "Pete Versus Life," and his film credits include "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz."
