SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Repertory Theatre's Fifth Annual Jewish Arts Festival will take place at the Lyceum at Horton Plaza June 16 29.

The festival, co-produced with the Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity, has grown to become one of the country's largest annual Jewish Arts Festivals. This year's lineup includes the Pacific Hebrew Theatre, Teatro Punto y Coma and the West Coat premieres of Aliyot by Yale Strom and Silver Trumpets by Phil Tauber.

Also participating are the San Diego Opera, the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, The Sephardic Soul of Flamenco and Israel's Rami Bar Niv, among others.

Given the growth of the festival, the array of artists and variety of performances, San Diego Rep's associate artistic director Todd Salovey said, "A few years ago we dreamed of helping to inspire the next generation of Jewish art. We're thrilled to say that it's already happening."

Based on the success of the festival in showcasing new talent and creativity, the Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity has initiated similar festivals in Santa Fe, Maui and Jerusalem. For tickets and information call (619) 544-1000.
