News Sandra Bernhard Finds Excuses for Bad Behavior at Ars Nova Theatre, Dec. 31 What better date than New Year's Eve to find excuses for bad behavior?

That is the name of comedienne-singer-actress-provocatress Sandra Bernhard's show, which is subtitled "Part 2," and will play two shows on Dec. 31 at the Ars Nova Theater. The times are 8 PM and 10:30 PM.

Bernhard has visited the New York scene with regularity in recent years, unveiling short runs of sui generis shows like Inshallah and Love Machine. She was last on Broadway in 1998, with the well received I'm Still Here....Damn It!

Excuses is described as "an evening of razor-sharp wit, singular song styling and her unique brand of humor." Part 1 of Excuses debuted a decade ago, according to a press release.

Bernhard, a hybrid artist, has made periodic sallies into the world of publishing ("Confessions of a Pretty Lady"), film ("The King of Comedy"), television ("Roseanne"), music and journalism.

Ars Nova Theater is at 511 W. 54th St. between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues. Tickets for the 8 PM show are $75 and tickets for the 10:30 PM show are $150.00 (which, be warned, includes an "intimate champagne toast at midnight with Ms. Bernhard"). Call SmartTix at (212) 868-4444.
