News Sarah Kane's Crave Begins at Arlington's Signature Jan. 30 Sarah Kane's Crave inaugurates the 99-seat ARK Theatre in the Signature Theatre's new $16 million complex in Arlington, VA, Jan. 30.

Jeremy Skidmore directs a cast that includes Kathleen Coons, Deborah Hazelett, Joe Isenberg and John Lescault.

"Set in an unidentifiable city from which voices and images spring, Crave is a dramatized deconstruction of the human mind under the pressures of love, loss, and longing," according to Signature notes. "Four nameless characters tell their tales of disintegration and isolation."

British playwright Sarah Kane was hailed as a potential heir to such existential playwrights as Samuel Beckett and Edward Bond prior to her untimely death at the age of 28.

The ARK is a black-box space named in honor of lead donors Arlene and Robert Kogod.

Performances of Crave continue to April 1. For information visit Tickets.com or call (800) 955-5566 or visit www.signature-theatre.org. *

Now playing the Signature's MAX space is a new sold-out production of Sondheim and Lapine's Into the Woods. The season will also include the world premiere of Saving Aimee (a musical by Kathie Lee Gifford) and the new U.S. production of The Witches of Eastwick, the musical.
