Originally seen Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 2008, Saved!, at KC Rep, will reunite the writing team with original director Gary Griffin (The Color Purple). Running Sept. 10-Oct. 3, Saved! has music and lyrics by Friedman, with book and lyrics by Dempsey and Groff. The musical focuses on the students of a Christian high school and the popular girl who will do anything to save her boyfriend.

Following will be Harriet Jacobs, adapted by Lydia Diamond from "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl," running Oct. 21-Nov. 21. Jessica Thebus will direct the work about a young slave girl hiding in her grandmother's basement, who secretly boards a boat and escapes to New York and freedom.

Kyle Hatley will stage the 30th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which will run Nov. 19-Dec. 26.

Marc Wolf's Obie-winning solo play Another American: Asking and Telling, which explores the government's contentious "don't ask, don't tell" policy, will be presented Jan. 14-Feb. 6, 2011.

The Midwest premiere of Baker's acclaimed Circle Mirror Transformation, (which was extended three times at Playwrights Horizons Off-Broadway), will take place Feb. 18-March 2011. The funny and touching play navigates the relationships and desires of five individuals brought together in a community acting class. David Schweizer will direct his adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt, the rarely staged five-act play based on a Norwegian folk tale, April 22-May 22, 2011.

For the final season slot, KC Rep is considering the Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret or Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire. Artistic director Eric Rosen will direct.
