Bonnie J. Monte, artistic director of the Madison, NJ, company, directs the circa 1600 Shakespeare tragedy about a Danish prince avenging the murder of his father, which will play to Oct. 11.

Saxe appeared as Joey in the recent Broadway production of The Homecoming. He also appeared in A Moon to Dance By with Robert Cuccioli and Jane Alexander at The REP in Pittsburgh, PA. For The Shakespeare Theatre, Saxe has appeared in The Importance of Being Earnest, Les Liaisons Dangereuses and The Merchant of Venice.

Cuccioli last appeared at The Shakespeare Theatre in the 2008 hit Amadeus, one of many appearances with the company. He received a Tony Award nomination and the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his portrayal of the title roles in the Broadway musical Jekyll and Hyde.

Making her Shakespeare Theatre debut, Antaramian was recently the understudy for Janet McTeer in Broadway's acclaimed Mary Stuart. She has also appeared on Broadway in Coram Boy, Wrong Mountain and Julius Caesar. Newcomer Daniel Stewart plays Laertes. Stewart appeared on Broadway in Not About Nightingales.

The production "features an evocative soundscape" created by sound designer Karin Graybash and featuring the voices of the Harmonium Choral Society, led by artistic director Anne Matlack. Director Monte stated, "I heard Harmonium perform last winter and I became excited about the possibility of collaborating with them on the sound for Hamlet. These incredibly gifted voices will create a haunting aural environment for this powerful masterwork."

John Hickok (Broadway's Parade, Little Women) plays doomed Polonius; Lauren English makes her Shakespeare Theatre debut as Ophelia, Hamlet's love; Gene Gillette and Michael Stewart Allen are Rosencrantz and Guildenstern; Greg Jackson is Hamlet's friend Horatio; Ames Adamson plays Reynaldo. The troupe includes Jon Barker, Jason Bobb, Pressly Coker and Robert Grant.
