Dressing room visits with The Scarlet Pimpernel stars Douglas Sills, Christine Andreas and Terrence Mann, the Pimpernel's own ring, and a prop guillotine blade are among the items to be auctioned off at a June 14 charity event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The auction will be the highlight of a "Scarlet Pimpernel Weekend" featuring a "talk-back" session and a lunch with the show's cast members. The benefit will take place in the Cantor/Jolson rooms of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan. Also on the block are such stage props as ornate playing cards, yellow silk flowers, and a harmless blade measuring 14" by 13.5" which is used on stage to cut off many a French head. Bidders can also purchase a personalized answering machine message by Sills, who, as Sir Percy, says, "So-and-so can't come to the phone at the moment, as he's joined me in the league of the Scarlet Pimpernel and is now sailing with me into the fire. Should he ride home again with a story to tell, he'll return you call. Please leave your message at the beep."

Admission to the auction is $5. For more information on the items available, please visit: http://members.aol.com/spweekend.

The weekend is produced by Theatre Patrons Care, a group dedicated to supporting BC/EFA's fundraising efforts. This is TPC's fourth "theater weekend." Prior weekends focusing on other Broadway musicals raised a total of more than $50,000 for BC/EFA.
