News Schwartz-Helmed Othello Opens at the Alley March 12 The Alley Theatre staging of Othello, directed by Scott Schwartz, officially opens March 12.

Schwartz (Golda's Balcony, Godspell) returns to stage Shakespeare's tale of jealousy and revenge, following his Alley productions of Much Ado About Nothing and The Underpants.

Featured in the Alley company are David Rainey as Othello, James Black as Iago, Elizabeth Bunch as Desdemona, Elizabeth Heflin as Emilia, Jeffrey Bean as Lodovico, James Belcher as Brabantio, Paul Hope as Duke of Venice, Chris Hutchison as Montano, Charles Khron as Gratiano, Todd Waite as Rodrigo, Brandon Hearnsberger as Cassio, Melissa Pritchett as Bianca, Luis Galindo as Sentator/Gentleme and John Kenny Cruz as Attendant as well as ensemble members Dan. J Gordon, Andrew J. Love, and Matt Redden.

The design team for Othello includes Walt Spangler (scenic design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), David Lander (lighting design), Jill BC DuBoff (sound design), Brian Byrnes (fight choreography), Pamela Prather (dialect coach) and original music by Michael Holland.
