News Scott's Broadway-Bound Everyday Rapture CD Available for Pre-Sale; Track List Announced The original cast recording of Sherie Rene Scott's Broadway-bound Everyday Rapture is being rushed to production and currently available for pre-sale on Sh-K-Boom Records' Ghostlight label.

Sh-K-Boom president Kurt Deutsch confirmed to Playbill.com that the album, recorded in studio with Scott and company July 6, is forthcoming. The album will be available on iTunes April 27 and in stores in June. (Pre-sale now available at sh-k-boom.com.)

The show was recently announced to fill the spot left vacant by the postponed Broadway production of Lips Together, Teeth Apart. Everyday Rapture will begin performances on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre April 19 with the original Off-Broadway cast.

Sh-K-Boom president Deutsch had previously confirmed director Michael Mayer, orchestrator Tom Kitt and musical director Carmel Dean were also in the studio for the initial laying down of music and vocals. "It was fun being back in the studio with Sherie," husband Deutsch told Playbill.com in July 2009. "I had flashbacks of recording her first solo record ten years ago!"

Everyday Rapture is billed as "the story of a young woman's psycho-sexual-spiritual journey on the rocky path that separates her mostly Mennonite past from her mostly Manhattan future," according to show notes. "Her life takes her from the cornfields of Kansas to the clover fields of New York (with a disturbing detour through YouTube)."

Second Stage Theatre presented the extended Off-Broadway run of Everyday Rapture, which ended June 14, 2009. Mayer (Spring Awakening) staged the new work penned by Scott and Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie) with musical supervision by Kitt (Next to Normal).

Scott was joined onstage by Eamon Foley, Lindsey Mendez and Betsy Wolfe. They will join the star/co-creator for Broadway.

Though not defined as a musical or play with music, Everyday Rapture featured songs made famous by David Byrne, George Harrison, The Dap Kings and Judy Garland. Musical staging was by Michele Lynch with orchestrations by Tom Kitt and musical direction by Carmel Dean.

Scott — last seen on Broadway as Ursula in The Little Mermaid — is known for her work in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Aida and The Last Five Years. She has also appeared on stage in Landscape of the Body, Tommy, Rent, Debbie Does Dallas, Faust and Over and Over. With husband Kurt Deutsch, Scott co-founded Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records.
