The premiere screening of David Mamet’s new film, “State and Main,” on Dec. 4 will benefit the Atlantic Theatre Company. Chelsea West Cinemas will host the event, which is being produced by Fine Line Features and the Atlantic Theater Company.

David Mamet (Atlantic co-founder) and film cast members Charles Durning, Clark Gregg (writer of screenplay for “What Lies Beneath” and Atlantic company member), Philip Seymour Hoffman, Patti LuPone, David Paymer, Rebecca Pidgeon and Julia Stiles are expected at the Dec. 4 gala.

Scheduled for a Dec. 22 release, “State and Main” depicts the effect of a week of shooting by a film crew that “turns a small Vermont town upside down and sideways.” In the film-within-a-film, star Alec Baldwin seduces a high school girl played by Julia Stiles. When a screenwriter (Philip Seymour Hoffman) witnesses this event, things take off.

Tickets to the screening and party following are $200 each. Chelsea West Cinema is located at 333 W. 23 St., between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. The post-screening party will be held at 24 Fifth Avenue Ballroom (Fifth Avenue at 11 St.). For tickets call (212) 414-1377.
