The Public Theater celebrates the official opening of Sea Wall / A Life February 12. The evening of back-to-back monologue plays by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne stars Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Tony nominee Tom Sturridge, both making their Public Theater debuts.

Sturridge, in his third collaboration with Tony and Olivier Award winner Stephens (Heisenberg, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), performs Sea Wall, an exploration of love and the human need to know the unknowable.

Gyllenhaal continues his collaboration with Olivier Award-nominated playwright Payne (Constellations, If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet) in A Life, an emotional examination of how sons become fathers and the transformative power of love.

Both directed by Carrie Cracknell (A Doll’s House, The Deep Blue Sea), the double bill continues through March 31. Click here for tickets and more information.
