Mark Brokaw is set to direct the Craig Lucas work, which would be staged at MTC's newly renovated Biltmore next season if the deal transpired, according to a Second Stage spokesperson. The Second Stage-MTC staging would mark the first union for the two non-profits and a rare revival mounting for the latter.

Reckless was to have begun April 1, 2003, as part of the 2002-03 season, but was bumped to the top of the 2003-04 due to scheduling conflicts. The production was later slated for the end of 2003-04, but no dates or space were announced.

Originally produced in 1983, Reckless involves a suburban wife who lives in bliss until one Christmas Eve when a hitman, hired by her hubby, makes an attempt on her life.

Parker, who won her Tony for her leading role in David Auburn's Proof (an MTC staging). also garnered a Tony nomination for her previous Lucas-penned work Prelude to a Kiss. The actress recently won a Golden Globe for her turn in the HBO adaptation of Angels in America and has also been seen in Bus Stop, Communicating Doors, How I Learned to Drive, Four Dogs and a Bone, The Art of Success and The Age of Pie. Parker, who has a recurring role on the NBC drama "The West Wing," has been seen in such films as "Boys on the Side," "Grand Canyon," "Fried Green Tomatoes," "Portrait of a Lady," "Bullets Over Broadway" and the screen adaptation of "Reckless."

The busy Lucas has penned the plays The Dying Gaul, God's Heart, Blue Window, Missing Persons, Stranger and This Thing of Darkness. His new work Small Tragedy is currently playing at Playwrights Horizons. Lucas also wrote the books for the musicals The Light in the Piazza, Marry Me a Little, Three and the opera libretti to Orpheus in Love.
