Performances began May 16 for the New York premiere of Cost of Living, by Ironbound playwright Martyna Majok. The new play, about the ways in which abled and disabled bodies meet each other, debuts Off-Broadway following its world premiere at last year’s Williamstown Theatre Festival, which is co-producing with Manhattan Theatre Club.

Directed by Obie Award winner Jo Bonney (Father Comes Home from the Wars), the Off-Broadway production will officially open June 7 at MTC at New York City Center – Stage I.

The cast of Cost of Living is made up of Jolly Abraham (Coram Boy) as Jess, Gregg Mozgala (Cost of Living at WTF) as John, Katy Sullivan (Cost of Living at WTF) as Ani, and Victor Williams (The Affair) as Eddie.

The play tells the story of four very different people, each trying to get by in very different circumstances. Eddie, an unemployed truck driver, reunites with his ex-wife Ani after a tragic accident. John hires overworked Jess as a caregiver. “As their lives intersect, Majok’s play delves into the chasm between abundance and need and explores the space where bodies — abled and disabled — meet each other,” read production notes from MTC.

Tickets for Cost of Living are available by calling CityTix at (212) 581-1212, online by visiting, or by visiting the New York City Center box office, located at at 131 West 55th Street, New York.
