Off-Broadway News See Who's Joining Tony Winner Idina Menzel in Skintight Off-Broadway The newest play by Significant Other and Admissions playwright Joshua Harmon finds its complete cast.
Will Brittain and Idina Menzel

The world premiere of Skintight, the newest play by Admissions and Significant Other playwright Joshua Harmon, has found its complete cast. Joining the previously announced Idina Menzel in Roundabout Theatre Company's Off-Broadway production will be Will Brittain, Stephen Carrasco, Eli Gelb, Cynthia Mace, and John Noble.

Performances of Skintight will begin May 31 at Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The production will be directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin, who helmed Harmon’s professional playwriting debut, Bad Jews, at Roundabout in 2012.

The limited engagement of Skintight is scheduled to run through August 26 with a June 21 opening night.

In Skintight, Jodi Isaac (Menzel), a divorcee with a 20-year-old son, discovers her famous father is in a relationship with Trey (Brittain), who’s also 20, and possibly gay…and possibly an adult film star. “Skintight assays the nature of love, the power of attraction, and the ways in which a superficial culture persists in teaching its children that all that matters is what’s on the inside,” read production notes from Roundabout.

Brittain, who will star as Trey, has been seen in the films Kong: Skull Island, Everybody Wants Some!!, A Teacher, Savage Youth, Haunt, and Clementine, among others.

Skintight is a recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. The play was commissioned by Roundabout Underground; Menzel has been attached to the project since its first reading in 2015.
