O'Hurley, who was part of this summer's hit reality program "Dancing with the Stars," is currently in negotiations to join the New York company of Chicago, the New York Post reports.

It's an especially busy time for the actor, who recently signed a book deal with Penguin Publishers. The book is tentatively titled "It's Okay to Miss the Bed on the First Jump" and is an ode to dog lovers. O'Hurley is also in talks with FOX-TV for his own sitcom/reality show.

O'Hurley has been seen on screen in "The Mullets," "Buying the Cow," "Teddy Bears' Picnic," "Race to Space," "Firetrap," "Slammed," "Cursed," "Love Stinks," "Three Secrets," "Wild Grizzly," "Tempting Fate," "Blood on Her Hands," "Lost on Earth," "Over the Top," "Murder Live!," "The Secret," "My Son Is Innocent," "The Power Within," "A Whole New Ballgame," "Valley of the Dolls," "General Hospital," "Mirror Images," "Scorch," "Santa Barbara," "The Young and the Restless," "Billy the Kid," "Something Is Out There," "Loving," "The Edge of Night" and "Seinfeld." Chicago would mark the actor's Broadway debut.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Chicago currently features Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Luba Mason as Velma Kelly, Carol Woods as Mama Morton, P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart and Christopher McDonald as Billy Flynn. Brooke Shields replaces d'Amboise as Roxie beginning Sept. 9. Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.
