News Seth Rudetsky Will Bring Deconstructing Broadway to Chicago and Offer Audition Master Class Sirius XM Broadway host, actor, musician and Playbill.com columnist Seth Rudetsky will return to Chicago with his one-man-show, Deconstructing Broadway, featuring video and audio clips of memorable and hilarious musical theatre moments, Nov. 4 at Chicago's Mayne Stage.

At the 8 PM show, according to press notes, "Rudetsky deconstructs what is vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in Evita) and what is a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material). Gavin Creel, Betty Buckley, Carly Simon, The Pajama Game, Melba Moore and more will be deconstructed throughout the evening. Video highlights (and lowlights) also include the short-lived Brady Bunch Variety Hour and Cher performing all of the roles in West Side Story."

Deconstructing Broadway is presented by Chicago-based MSG Productions, LLC under producer Missy Greenberg.

Following the solo show, Rudetsky will hold an exclusive auditioning master class at Mayne Stage Nov. 5. During the workshop, which runs from 10 AM-1 PM, Rudetsky will help participants choose the right audition song and answer questions like: “Where do I look when I audition?” “What do I think about when I’m singing?” and “What should I do with my body and hands?”

Enrollment in the master class is open to only 24 participants, who will have one-on-one time with Rudetsky, as well as spectators, who can observe and learn from the audience. Participants should bring sheet music and can register online at www.sethrudetsky.com/blog/see-me-live.

Rudetsky made his Broadway debut as Sheldon Farenthold in The Ritz. He recently appeared at the Art House in Provincetown, MA, performing his solo show and presenting a Broadway concert series with Christine Ebersole, Andrea Martin, Charles Busch, Adam Pascal and Andrea McArdle. Rudetsky was also featured on the Emmy-Award-winning "Kathy Griffin Show" on Bravo. He is the afternoon Broadway host on Sirius/XM radio and a weekly columnist for Playbill.com. As a musician, he has played piano for more than a dozen Broadway shows including Ragtime, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera and was the on-camera vocal coach on MTV's "Legally Blonde: Search for Elle Woods." Rudetsky was also the artistic producer/music director for the first five annual Actors Fund fall concerts including Dreamgirls with Audra McDonald and Hair with Jennifer Hudson.

The Mayne Stage is located at 1328 Morse Avenue in Chicago. For more information and tickets, call (773) 381-4554 or visit www.maynestage.com or www.sethrudetsky.com.
