News Sevan's Solo, Taking Flight, Lands at Hollywood's Fountain for Limited Run Adriana Sevan's solo show, Taking Flight, will play a limited run at the Fountain Theatre in Hollywood.

Giovanna Sardelli (Two Thirds Home) directs the special event that has been added to Falcon's current season. The limited, two-weeks-only engagement will run Aug. 17-26.

In Taking Flight, Sevan tells the story of a woman wounded by an errant fragment of a plane engine on September 11, 2001, who is aided bedside by her best friend; the constant care and painful rehabilitation tests the relationship. Sevan plays a number of varied characters — including a Latina mix of "Carmen Miranda and Dr. Phil," a Haitian cabdriver, a Long Island Jewish fashion maven and a 90-year-old sexy grandmother — in the work that is based on a true experience.

Taking Flight premiered in 2006 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the Center Theatre Group's Solomania! series. The show was then combined with Roger Guenveur Smith's The Watts Tower Project, another solo from the same event, to make Two Cities, Two Voices, which played at Los Angeles Theatre Works for the company's "The Play's The Thing" radio theatre series.

Sevan has performed in The Clean House, Anna in the Tropics (South Coast Repertory), Indian Ink (San Francisco's A.C.T. ), Henry V (Shakespeare & Co.) and Two Sisters and a Piano (New York's Public Theatre).

Tickets to Taking Flight at the Fountain Theatre, 5060 Fountain Avenue in Hollywood, CA, are available by calling (323) 663-1525 or by visiting fountaintheatre.com.
