The famous Parisian Folies Bergere will open the season with the stage version of the screen classic Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. The legendary MGM film, directed by Stanley Donen and starring Howard Powell and Jane Powell, will make its stage debut in Parus on Sept. 21 and has been renamed Sept Filles Pour Sept Garcons.

This production will be directed by Italian veteran Saverio Marconi who has already mounted this show in his country. But Marconi is no stranger to the Folies Bergere. Two seasons ago, he had directed a classy production of Maury Yeston’s Italian-flavored Nine on that very stage.

Leading a cast of 23 performers will be French pop star Lio in the role originated by Jane Powell. Her partner will be Oliver Benard, who has been seen at the Folies Bergere, in Les Annees Twist. and La Fievre des Annees 80.
