Fiennes, who appeared on Broadway in Hamlet and Faith Healer, recently directed and starred in a film of Shakespeare's Coriolanus. He will receive the Shakespeare Society Medal for his "distinguished contributions to the world of William Shakespeare."
The benefit begins with a reception at 6 PM, followed by an onstage conversation with Fiennes.
Previous honorees include Peter Hall, Trevor Nunn, Claire Bloom, Kenneth Branagh and Christopher Plummer.
Fiennes most recently starred in The Tempest under the direction of Trevor Nunn. He has also performed the Bard's Love's Labour's Lost, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard II, King John, Troilus and Cressida, Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet. He earned Academy Award nominations for "The English Patient" and "Schindler's List."
