News Shakespeare’s Globe Actors Set for Hollywood Bowl’s Shakespeare at the Bowl The evening’s program has also been announced.

The Hollywood Bowl will present Shakespeare at the Bowl, a celebration of the works of William Shakespeare and the music inspired by his classic plays, August 30 at 8 PM.

The evening, directed by Iqbal Khan, will feature the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Bramwell Tovey. Bringing Shakespeare's words to life will be Shakespeare's Globe actors Janie Dee, Cleopatra and Beatrice; Simon Paisley-Day, Antony and Benedick; Brendan O’Hea, Enobarbus and Mercurio; Cassie Layton, Charmain and Juliet; and Tom Kanji, Eros and Romeo. Bill Barclay has written the adaptations for the performance.

“Revel in music inspired by the Bard's timeless plays,” according to press notes, “including works by Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, and Korngold, and enjoy classic scenes brought to life by actors from Shakespeare's Globe, marking the anniversary of the playwright's death 400 years ago.”
