News Shakespeare's Globe Productions Released on DVD American audiences can now be transported to Shakespeare's Globe in London: The Naxos of America DVD label has begun releasing recordings of Shakespearean productions, filmed during performances on the Elizabethan-style stage. The performances will be available on DVD and Blu-ray.

A production of Romeo and Juliet, featuring Ellie Kendrick and Adetomiwa Edun as the tragic lovers, was made available in the U.S. May 27. The production was filmed at the Globe in August 2009 and also features Andrew Vincent as Prince Escalus,
Philip Cumbus as Mercutio, Tom Stuart
 as Paris, Michael O'Hagan as Montague,
 Holly Atkins as Lady Montague,
 Jack Farthing
as Benvolio and more. The production is directed by Dominic Dromgoole and designed by Simon Daw. As You Like It, the romantic comedy of mistaken identity, frusturated romance and the mysterious Forest of Arden, will be available shortly. The production was filmed in October 2009. Directed by Thea Sharrock (London and Broadway's Equus) and designed by Dick Bird, it featured Brendon Hughes
as Duke Frederick, Jack Laskey as Orlando, Trevor Martin
as Oliver Jamie Parker as Adam, Naomi Frederick as Rosalind, Laura Rogers as Celia, 
 Dominic Rowan as Touchstone,
Gregory Gudgeon as Le Beau, 
Sean Kearns as Charles, Philip Bird as Duke Senior, 
Peter Gale as Amiens, 
Sean Kearns as
 Corin, Michael Benz as Silvius, Tim McMullan as Jaques, Sophie Duval
 as Audrey, Gregory Gudgeon as William, 
Peter Gale
Phebe as Sir Oliver Martext Jade Williams as Pheobe
and Ewart James Walters
 as Hymen.

Several other DVDs are also promised, including one of the more obscure romantic comedy Love's Labour's Lost, in the coming months.
