News Shape Shifting: Veteran Voices, With Sarah Ruhl, to Be Offered in January Tony Award-nominated playwright Sarah Ruhl will take part in Shape Shifting: Veteran Voices, a cultural discussion presented by Ripe Time and the New York Theatre Workshop, Jan. 10, 2011.

The 7 PM event will feature theatre artists whose works directly relate to or have touched on the travesties of war and the challenges faced by veterans returning home. In addition to Ruhl (Passion Play, In the Next Room), the discussion will feature Bryan Doerries (Theater of War), the Civilians' KJ Sanchez and Emily Ackerman (ReEntry) and Kia Corthron (Moot the Messenger).

The evening will highlight selections from the aforementioned works, as well as Septimus & Clarissa, a new adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s "Mrs. Dalloway," penned by Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Ellen McLaughlin and developed with Ripe Time artistic director Rachel Dickstein. The work will have its full premiere in fall 2011.

Shape Shifting: Veteran Voices will be presented at the New York Theatre Workshop, located at 79 East 4th Street in Manhattan. There is a suggested donation of $15. Reservations can be made by phoning (718) 622-3650.
