A Round-Heeled Woman was written for the stage by Jane Prowse (who will also direct the new production) and is based on the true story of Jane Juska. In late 1999, Juska, an English teacher, placed an ad in "The New York Review of Books" that read: "Before I turn 67—next March—I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me." The response from men of all ages was so overwhelming that Juska took a sabbatical from her teaching job to meet—and have sex with—some of them. Her experiences ran the gamut from sad to satisfying, and she recounted them with candor and humor in her book "A Round-Heeled Woman: My Late-Life Adventures in Sex and Romance."

Earlier this year, Gless starred in the limited-engagement premiere of the play at San Francisco's Theatre Artaud. It is a project that the actress has been nurturing since she took out an option on Juska's book nearly a decade ago with the hope of turning it into a feature or television movie. When those attempts fell on deaf industry ears, she presented the notion of a theatrical production to writer Jane Prowse, and the project took off, headed for the stage.

Gless made her legit debut at StageWest in Springfield, MA, co-starring with Kim Hunter in a 1989 production of Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine, and has appeared in West End productions of Stephen King's Misery with Bill Paterson (1993) and Neil Simon's Chapter Two with Tom Conti (1996). A Round-Heeled Woman will mark her New York stage debut. She is, however, no stranger to television audiences. A veteran of multiple series, most notably the acclaimed "Cagney & Lacey" on CBS and "Queer as Folk" on Showtime, Gless currently co-stars as platinum blonde, chain-smoking Madeline Westen on the USA Network's "Burn Notice."
