The evening, which begins at 7 PM, celebrates the work of songwriters Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond. Vocalists include Mathew Burrow, Natalie Elise Hall, Darius Harper, Danny McNie and Amy Toporek.

Kooman and Dimond, who recently participated in the Kennedy Center's Broadway Today & Tomorrow series, will both be on hand to discuss the creation of their songs and accompany the performers on piano.

Barbara Anselmi is the evening's musical director.

The New Voices series was founded by composer Scott Alan to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York." Alan's debut recording, "Dreaming Wide Awake" — which features performances by Liz Callaway, Stephanie J. Block, Eden Espinosa, Cheyenne Jackson and Jonathan Groff, among others — is available by visiting www.scottalan.net. His new CD, "Keys: The Music of Scott Alan," is also now available.

Kate Shindle, who earned the title of Miss America in 1998, created the role of Vivienne in Legally Blonde: The Musical. She portrayed Sally Bowles in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret and also appeared on Broadway as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. Shindle took part in the all-star benefit concerts of Children of Eden, The Secret Garden and Pippin, and her other theatrical credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Woman Upstairs, After the Fall, Himself and Nora, First Lady Suite, The Mousetrap, The Last Five Years, Gypsy, Sympathy Jones and Into the Woods. Shindle has been seen on screen in "Capote," "The Stepford Wives" and "As the World Turns." Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond are currently developing their new musical, Golden Gate, as part of the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Their other works include the musical Dani Girl and the song cycle Homemade Fusion.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $12 music charge and a two-drink minimum; for reservations call (212) 255-5438 or visit theduplex.com.
