Musicals Tonight!, the scrappy musical theatre concert series sung at the mainstage of the 14th Street Y in Manhattan, is reviving the Gershwins' Girl Crazy, Cole Porter's The New Yorkers, Harold Rome's obscure That's the Ticket! and Irving Berlin's Face the Music in its 2001-2002 season.

Founder Mel Miller's series is performed with piano and voice.

That's the Ticket is the least known of the coming slate of shows. The 1948 tuner had a score by Harold Rome and a book by the "Casablanca" screenwriters Julius and Philip Epstein. The staging was directed by Jerome Robbins and choreographed by Paul Godkin. It closed during its Philadelphia tryout. Leif Erickson and Kaye Ballard starred. Performances are April 9-21, 2002.

The Gershwins' 1930 Girl Crazy has a hit-parade score including "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You," "But Not for Me" and "Bidin' My Time." It also has quirky arcana such as "Goldfarb, That's I'm!" and "(When It's) Cactus Time in Arizona." Performances are Sept. 4-16.

The New Yorkers concert staging will feature a couple of songs cut from the 1930 tuner. The score includes "Love for Sale," "I Happen to Like New York," "Just One of Those Things," and "Take Me Back to Manhattan." Performances are Dec. 4-16. Berlin's Face the Music (1932) has a story about a policeman's wife putting her husband's shady money in an awful Broadway show. Jokes Miller: "Face the Music is not by Mel Brooks!" The book was by Moss Hart, with direction by George S. Kaufman and Hassard Short. The score includes "Let's Have Another Cup of Coffee," "Soft Lights and Sweet Music" and "I Say It's Spinach." Performances are June 11-23, 2002.
