News "Sidewalk Sale" to Offer Bric-a-Brac from Four Off-Broadway Troupes Aug. 4 A handful of New York City non-profit troupes will sell scripts, set and costume pieces and other chunks of Off-Broadway history at an Aug. 4 "sidewalk sale" — actually, in a lobby — on West 42nd Street.

The 10 AM-3 PM sale will be held in the Ford Motor Company lobby of Playwrights Horizons, where "years' worth of authentic memorabilia and merchandise from past shows" by Playwrights Horizons, Second Stage Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop and Signature Theatre Company will be sold.

Playwrights Horizons is at 416 West 42nd Street.

"At this one-day-only sale, theatre fans will be able to purchase everything from autographed posters and scripts to authentic costume pieces worn in past shows to opening night gifts, CDs, DVDs and more," according to a statement.

Items on sale include:

  • The pink dress worn by Kristine Nielsen in Crazy Mary
  • The wolf man mask and yellow self-defense suit worn by Paul Sparks in Essential Self-Defense
  • An industrial Singer Sewing Machine
  • T-shirts from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Little Dog Laughed and A Soldier's Play Refreshments will be served. Please note, cash payments only.
