Directed by Flea Theater artistic director Jim Simpson, the topical comedy about a woman who is writing about a past relationship with – could it be? — George W. Bush, will play "through the presidential election in November," the Flea announced.

Mrs. Farnsworth sold out its initial run at The Flea Theater in April 2004 (with Weaver and John Lithgow as Mr. Farnsworth) and played over the summer between both the Democratic and Republican conventions with new cast members.

Danny Burstein continues in the role of Gordon Bell, Mrs. Farnsworth's writing instructor, and Gerry Bamman returns to play Mr. Farnsworth. Bamman played the role in the run that followed Lithgow's turn.

In the play, "the very proper, well-educated Connecticut wife and mother Margery Farnsworth, signs up for a writing course with the intent of penning a tell-all book about our current President, with whom she has shared a shady past."

Instructor Gordon Bell "is all too happy to help Mrs. Farnsworth get the truth out. In swoops her husband, Forrest Farnsworth, who with beguiling charm and tender passion for his wife presents quite a different view of their collected history and politics." The comedy by Gurney will be produced in The Flea's 88-seat venue in TriBeCa.

Weaver's last role at The Flea was in Anne Nelson's 9/11 drama, The Guys. She recently appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's film, "The Village." Gerry Bamman is a veteran of Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional theatre. He received Obie and Drama League Awards and a Drama Desk nomination for Nixon's Nixon, also directed by Jim Simpson. Burstein's credits include Company, A Class Act, Titanic, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Psych (at The Flea).

Also returning to the cast will be Kate Benson, Fernando Gambaroni and Tarajia Morell. All three are members of the Bat Theater Company, the resident acting company at The Flea.

Mrs. Farnsworth features sets by Kyle Chepulis, lights by Brian Aldous and costumes by Claudia Brown.

Mrs. Farnsworth will play Wednesday through Saturday at 7 PM, with 3 PM matinees on Wednesday and Saturday from Sept. 29 to Nov. 6, with added performances Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 at 7 PM.

There will be no performances Oct. 21-23.

The Flea is located at 41 White Street between Church and Broadway, three blocks south of Canal. Tickets are $50 to $60 and are available by calling (212) 352-3101.
