News Silk Stockings to Be Presented in NYC Sept. 11-Oct 3 Four semi-staged performances of Cole Porter's Silk Stockings will be presented at the Florence Gould Hall beginning Sept. 11.

On Sept. 11, 19, 26 and Oct. 3 at 6:30 PM Lost Musicals will offer the famed Porter musical, which features a book by George S. Kaufman, Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows. Ian Marshall Fisher — who directed the musical in London this past May — will helm the U.S. production, and the performances will benefit The Lost Musicals Charitable Trust, a government educational organization in the United Kingdom. An American cast of 17 will be announced shortly. Silk Stockings was based on the Billy Wilder film Ninotchka. The musical opened at the Imperial Theatre in February 1955, playing 478 performances before closing in April 1956. Directed by Cy Feuer, the original company included Don Ameche, Hildegarde Neff, George Tobias and Gretchen Wyler. Song titles included "Too Bad," "Paris Loves Lovers," "All of You," "Satin and Silk," "Without Love," "Josephine," "Silk Stockings" and "The Red Blues."
