Classic Arts News Singers and Dancers Union to Recognize Same-Sex Marriages The American Guild of Musical Artists, which represents singers and dancers in the United States, will recognize same-sex marriages for the purposes of its healthcare and retirement plans.
At a meeting this week, trustees of the AGMA plans voted to honor same-sex marriages carried out in any jurisdiction, regardless of where the married couple lives.

"We have long recognized the appropriateness of providing health insurance coverage for domestic partners," said AGMA executive director Alan Gordon. "Extending that coverage to any of our members who are legally married in any state or country is the logical extension of that policy."

The union is unsure how many union members will be affected by the change.
