News Sleuth Extends West End Run

Anthony Shaffer's Sleuth, starring Peter Bowles and Gray O'Brien, and directed by Elijah Moshinsky, has proved one of the hits of the summer, and, as a result, has just announced a five-month extension to February 2003.

The play, which was made into a notable film in the early 1970's, starring Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine, takes the classic thriller genre (whose golden age was in the 1920's and 1930's) and gives it a modern twist. The result is a witty, sophisticated and surprising modern-day thriller that has clearly sparked as well with today's audiences as it did when it premiered some 30 years ago.

Sleuth plays the Apollo Theatre (Shaftesbury).
