Tony Award-nominated Newsies director Jeff Calhoun (Bonnie & Clyde, Big River) was part of the Junior Theater Festival weekend in Atlanta, GA, the weekend of Jan. 15, where over 3,000 young theatre lovers gathered to perform for one another and immerse themselves in three days of musical theatre.
Part of the festivities included a staging of "Seize the Day," the high-energy dance number from Newsies, performed by dozens of young men at the festival. Following the performance, JTF also revealed for the first time the new logo for the Broadway production of Newsies, which begins March 15 at the Nederlander Theatre.
