Classic Arts News Sofia Gubaidulina Unable to Attend Carnegie Hall's 'Making Music' Program of Her Works Composer Sofia Gubaidulina will not appear as part of "Making Music: Sofia Gubaidulina" on December 6, due to the sudden death of her husband, Carnegie Hall announced.
The concert will take place as scheduled, however, and the repertoire remains the same.

The all-Gubaidulina program, curated by Ara Guzelimian, Carnegie Hall artistic advisor and "Making Music" series moderator, includes Rejoice! Sonata for Violin and Cello, and the U.S. premieres of Mirage: The Dancing Sun for 8 cellos and On the Edge of the Abyss for 7 cellos and 2 waterphones.
