The Emmy-nominated star of "Ugly Betty," which ended earlier this season, has landed a role on the hit ABC series "Desperate Housewives," according to EW.com.

Williams will be a series regular and may be Wisteria Lane's newest troublemaker; her character will be connected to the return of Paul (Mark Moses).

Williams has also been seen on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman and the revival of Into the Woods.

"Desperate Housewives," which offered its season finale May 16, airs in the New York metropolitan area Sundays at 9 PM on ABC-TV, Channel 7.
