News "Sopranos" and "Law & Order" Stars Head "First Readings" Benefit for Studio Dante, March 20
"The Sopranos" stars Michael Imperioli, Steve Buscemi, Edie Falco, Julianna Margulies, Steve Schirripa and Annabella Sciorra along with Rent and "Law & Order" star Jesse L. Martin will appear in "First Readings: A Benefit For Studio Dante."

Hosted by Imperioli's company Studio Dante and presented by Architectural Digest, the event will take place March 20 at the Dahesh Museum of Art. The benefit evening starts at 6:30 PM with cocktails, a light supper and silent auction. The 7:45 PM performance will premiere two short plays read by the aforementioned stars.

The next production for the company will be the world premiere of Ron Fitzgerald's Cyclone at its Manhattan home March 15-April 8. Brian Mertes directs the dark comedy featuring Michael Cullen, Jeremy Davidson, James Hendricks, Marin Ireland, Hamish Linklater, Lucas Papaelias and Matthew Stadelmann.

Imperioli founded Studio Dante in 2003 with his wife Victoria Imperioli to "house progressive new plays in a setting inspired by the grand architecture and design of traditional 19th Century venues."

As an actor, Imperioli has appeared on film in "Goodfellas," "Jungle Fever," "Malcolm X," "Shark Tale" (in voice), "Clockers," "Dead Presidents," and "Summer of Sam" — which he co-wrote with Victor Colicchio and executive produced. He has also appeared on the stage in Aven’ U Boys, Displaced Persons, Half Deserted Street and The Writing On The Wall & Little Blood Brother. Studio Dante has previously produced Late Fragment , Baptism by Fire, Ponies and Henry Flamethrowa. The company is "committed to producing writers who inhabit a fresh point of view and have the courage to investigate difficult emotional terrain."
