News Sorkin Penning New Film for Actor George Clooney Stage and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has been tapped to pen a new courtroom film drama entitled "The Challenge" for Warner Brothers pictures.

Variety reports that George Clooney will likely star as Navy lawyer Charles Swift, who joined forces with Georgetown University law professor Neal Katyal to ensure a fair trial for Guantanamo Bay prisoner Salim Hamdan. Hamdan was Osama bin Laden's driver. Clooney may also direct the film that he is co-producing with Grant Heslov.

Aaron Sorkin is known for his Broadway dramas A Few Good Men and The Farnsworth Invention. His numerous works for the screen include "The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Sports Night" and the films "Malice," "The American President" and "Charlie Wilson's War."
