News "Sound of Music" Star Will Help Launch New Season of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" will kick off its new season Sept. 8 on NBC. Guests for the first week of the fall season have been announced: Included in the lineup is Grammy winner Carrie Underwood, who starred in the live TV broadcast of "The Sound of Music."

The full lineup of guests for the week of Sept. 8-11 follow:

Tuesday, Sept. 8
Richard Gere, Jessica Simpson, Keith Urban.

Wednesday, Sept. 9
Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Thursday, Sept. 10
Andy Samberg, Carrie Underwood (talk and musical performance).

Friday, Sept. 11
Donald Trump, Terrence Howard, Pharrell Williams. "The Tonight Show" is broadcast on NBC beginning at 11:35 PM ET; check local listings.
