The Tony Award winner comes to Feinstein’s/54 Below with a Salute to Broadway.

Paulo Szot, the Brazilian operatic baritone who won the 2008 Tony Award as Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance as Emile in South Pacific, makes his sixth concert appearance at Feinstein’s/54 Below June 6–10 with Salute to Broadway, an all-new program of show music.

For this concert of “rare masterpieces from lesser known musicals,” Szot will be accompanied by pianist Billy Stritch as music director.

Performances will take place 7 PM June 6–9, plus 9:30 PM June 8 and 10.

For his performance as Emile de Becque in South Pacific, Szot also won the Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and the Theatre World Award. South Pacific remains the only Broadway appearance for Szot, whose opera career has included stints at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and Opéra de Marseille, in operas including The Barber of Seville, The Elixir of Love, La Bohème, Don Giovanni, Così fan Tutte, and The Marriage of Figaro. For a previous New York cabaret performance he was nominated for the 2014 MAC Award as Best Celebrity Artist.
